      LOWLAND - Mary Lupton Henries, 99, of Lowland died Thursday, September 22, 2005 at Craven Regional Medical Center.

      A funeral service was held on Sunday, September 25 at 2:00 pm at Lowland Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Revs. Terry and Phillip Lewis and Kenneth Dixon officiating. Burial was in Carawan Cemetery in Lowland.

      The family received friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Saturday, September 24 at Bryant Funeral Home. She was one of the founding members of Lowland Pentecostal Holiness Church.

      She is survived by two sons, Etles A. Henries of South Creek and Albin R. Henries of Newport, NC; two daughters, Ciniath H. Mercer of Bayboro and Gladys H. Shelton of Hendersonville, NC; 26 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; and 34 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin B. Henries, one son, Alphonso Henries, a daughter, Cora B. Wiggins, and four grandchildren.
